Sarah was born and raised in New Caledonia, a French island located in the South Pacific. Her father taught her how to spearfish and windsurf on flat-water. At age 15 she tried windsurfing in waves and it became a passion. Sarah went to school in Grenoble, France and got a masters degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics in 2012. Determined to become an athlete, Sarah moved to Maui, where she met her husband Casey. Since then she’s competed internationally as a windsurfer and a Stand Up Paddler in the surfing and racing disciplines. Sarah won the American Windsurfing Tour title in 2015 and forged her reputation as a big wave challenger by windsurfing Jaws 3 times!
Sarah recently returned to New Caledonia to produce “Back to the Roots,” a sport + environment documentary that will air on Canal+ in 2017! Since fall 2015 Sarah has also been working on a movie called “Girl on Wave”, which documents her journey of becoming a professional athlete and tackling big waves. Check out the trailer here!
Sarah continues to work hard to win another AWT title and finish on the podium of the Aloha Classic at Hookipa. She is a constant inspiration to never give up on a dream!
