Yes, You Can Gift the Perfect Bikini

Bikini shopping for someone else can seem a little daunting, but with our help, you CAN gift the ladies on your list a suit they will LOVE. We've never heard a woman complain about having too many bikinis!

Learning a few tips and tricks can make a huge difference in your shopping experience, and give you confidence about finding the right piece and giving the perfect Christmas gift. The secret is drawing the eye to what your recipient will want to show off. Follow our simple tips and you'll be able to find just the right bikini for that special lady on your list.

The first step is to consider body shape. This will help to determine what areas to accentuate, and which ones to downplay.

PETITE:

All around small- weight, height, chest, and hips.

What bikini works best?

String triangle tops are a great choice, along with a deep scoop neckline, because both enhance a small bust. Grab tops with padding, ruffles, and prints to bring attention to the upper half. Pair it with a basic medium to minimal coverage bottom. Try to stay away from boy short cut bottoms (you want to show off that booty!) and choose a high-cut bottom that rounds up to the hipbones. Avoid styles with too much fabric that overwhelm a small frame.

Bella BottomKyla Bottom, & Tori Bottom.

STRAIGHT:

Small curves, and hip and chest measurements are very similar.

What bikini works best?

This body type can totally rock a skimpy style string top and bottom! A top with ruffles, gathering, or padding can also help fake some curves. Stay away from bandeau tops and sporty bottoms as they won’t give that hourglass shape figure that you want to enhance. Opt out of black and instead choose white or bright colors to add the appearance of volume.

Gabby Bottom, Sophie Bottom, & Gillian Bottom

ATHLETIC:

Narrow hips, broader shoulders, and those muscular legs!

What bikini works best?

These ladies should show off what they've worked so hard for! Try a minimal coverage bottom to draw attention to a toned lower half. On top, any feminine details will soften the chest area. Try a fun print, and avoid bandeaus, boy shorts, or shapeless pieces.

Sensi Picks to Try:

Dawn TopClaire Top & Sara Top.

Kyla BottomEmma Bottom, & Sophie Bottom.

PEAR SHAPE:

Great hips! Top is more narrow than bottom.

What bikini works best?

Keep bottoms simple. You want to avoid tie-sides, ruffles or anything that creates more volume on the bottom. Think black, minimal and chic. Avoid stripes or busy patterns. Pair bottoms with a top that enhances the bust with a print, halter style, or cleavage detail. Even though it's tempting to cover up with boy shorts, don’t — they’ll only visually widen.

Sensi Picks to Try:

Colleen Top, Jenna Top, & Darla Top.

Gillian Bottom, Emma Bottom, & Courtney Bottom.

HOURGLASS:

Enviable curves! Shaped like an hourglass, wide bust and hips, but narrow waist.

What bikini works best?

A halter style will support up top, while a full coverage bottom will be slimming. For the more daring, go for a minimal coverage bikini bottom to enhance the booty! To emphasize the chest- triangle tops (aka the classic string bikini,) or low cut tops will easily direct eyes to those assets.

Sensi Picks to Try:

Charlotte Top, Ingrid Top, & Jaime Top.

Kyla BottomEmma Bottom, & Sophie Bottom.

APPLE:

More weight in the chest and belly region, but smaller hips and legs

What bikini works best?

To create an hourglass (there's a theme here), choose a bottom that makes hips appear bigger and a top that makes the chest look smaller. Boy shorts are a good bottom choice. To make a large chest look smaller, wear black or other dark colors. Avoid any top that does not provide enough support for the chest. Steer clear of stripes or large patterns.

Sensi Picks to Try:

Jenna Top, Ingrid Top, & Sara Top.

Jennifer Bottom, Gillian Bottom, & Courtney Bottom.

FULLER FIGURE:

Curvaceous and fuller-figured.

What bikini works best?

It depends on what you like! A fabulous option for more coverage is a full coverage bottom and tank style bikini top (look for supportive tops) combo. But don't be afraid of a bikini either! You can make either work!

Sensi Picks to Try:

Ingrid Top, Jenna Top, & Jaime Top.

Emma Bottom, Bella Bottom & Surf Suit.

More go-to bikini tips:

To show off a feature, use a bright color or pattern.

To draw attention away from something, use a dark solid color.

For fair skin, dark jewel tones like dark purple, navy, maroon, and black are the most flattering.

Bright colors tend to be more flattering on dark skin.

To add volume to the chest or hips, choose a piece with ruffles.

Last but certainly not least… when you gift the perfect bikini, remind the recipient to rock it with confidence! Attitude and a smile will always take bikini style to the next level.
