Why Women Matter

Why Women Matter

We are all familiar with the gender disparity for women in sports. As it stands today, women in the WNBA make 10x less than their male counterparts. The average salary for a WNBA player is $75,000 while the average NBA salary is $6.4 million. Read that again.

The same disparity applies to women in business. 42% of businesses in the US are female-founded, but just 2.2% of venture funding goes to female business owners.

This doesn't make sense for a variety of reasons:

Number 1: Female-led businesses consistently produce a return on investment that is double what the men-only startups produce, according to research conducted by MassChallenge and the Boston Consulting Group.

Number 2: Businesses see significant growth after they reach the 250,000k in sales mark which enables a significant impact in the local economy and more jobs. Yet, we're limiting female-founded businesses by not investing in them and helping them reach this significant milestone.

Number 3: Women are more likely to reinvest up to 90 percent of their incomes back into their communities and families, compared to just 30-40 percent by men. Gender equality is one of the most effective ways to fight poverty worldwide.

One of our missions here at Sensi Graves Bikinis is to empower women. We strive to do that by encouraging you to get out there and get after it, provide examples, inspiration and motivation to feel awesome and follow your dreams and by creating an awesome product that you can rely on.

This week, we've partnered with 10 other female-owned businesses to support and encourage one another through this trying time.

For one week only, each of us will be offering you between 10 and 25% off. All you have to do is use the code ISHOPSMALL at checkout.

There's never been a better time to shop small and support women.
