Watch Our Team Athletes In This New Womens Kite Video!

Women kiteboarding

The Sum of 5 is available now for your viewing pleasure! This video is the recap of a kiteboarding trip amongst Egypt’s Red Sea featuring athletes Mikaili Sol, Paula Novotna, Hannah Whiteley, and Team Sensi riders Francesca Bagnoli and Colleen Carroll. Colleen shares more about their experience:

Passion. Drive. Determination. Kinship. Empowerment.  These are all words that immediately come to mind when I think of the “Sum of 5”.  A project born from the desire to put women in kiteboarding at the forefront and shine a light on them in a way that isn’t done so very often.  The “Sum of 5” started as the title of our video but as the project unfolded, it started to take on new meaning to those of us on the trip.

When asked, ‘what is the sum of 5?’, Francesca Bagnoli replied: “the sum of 5 is a group of warriors” and I couldn’t have put it better myself.  This name we dubbed ourselves meant to us that together, we are more than the sum of our individual parts.  This mantra rang true throughout the entire trip.  Working as a team was paramount.  Whether that meant helping unload or load the shuttle or boat during one of the many transports, sharing equipment, reveling in others successes, pushing past soreness and fatigue, offering remedies for upset stomachs, or words of encouragement when it just wasn’t someone’s day.  The Sum of 5 is a group of strong individual women who thrive on lifting each other up.

It is a show of our athletic abilities with a message about who we are and why we do what we do.  We each poured a bit of our heart and bodies into this project and we hope that you enjoy it.
