6 Steps to Stop Judging Your Body & Start Loving It ❤️💪🏾

Can I let tell you a secret? I've had issues with my love handles for the last, oh I don't know, 10 years. 🙄I'm a strong, fit and generally super healthy woman, but for some reason, I can't seem to stop judging the bits of fat around my waistline. 

I tend to gain weight in my stomach first and my body kinda just likes to have "love handles". That's all well and good, but you know what the really annoying, sucky part is? I can spiral out with judging them and letting their presence affect my mood, my mind and how I feel about myself. WTF?!?!??!!!

Luckily, I've gotten way better at getting over this feeling over the years.

I design swimwear that's meant to make you feel like you can take on the world. A lot of that feeling comes from our minds and therefore it's my intention to share with you confidence building tips, body-loving affirmations and general stoke for feeling amazing. 

Here are my 6 easy steps to stop judging yourself so. dang. much. 

You are beautiful! ✨

1. Refrain from social media for one week. GASP! I know. It's a lot. But a lot of judgment for ourselves comes from seeing what others are doing, wearing and what their bodies look like. If you're deep in the judgment zone, a week may be way you need. If this feels like too much, commit to taking at least one day off per week from social. You deserve that. 

2. Do a mirror fast. When I feel as though I'm just judging myself way too much, I'll stop looking in the mirror. That's it. Out of sight, out of mind. Just keep on walking sister. Ain't nobody got time for feeling sucky. 

3. Practice affirmations. Every morning, look yourself in the mirror (only if you're not mirror fasting) and say one thing that you love about your body and yourself. You love your eyes? Excellent. Tell yourself that! Keep this practice going throughout the day by committing to inserting a positive thought whenever you have a negative one. 

4. Nourish yourself. Focus on what you need to feel good. Fuel your body the right way and focus on the positive. Don't spiral out of control when you consume something "bad". Forgive yourself and keep focusing on bringing in the positive, not on how guilty you feel about the negative. 

5. Move your body every day. When you move your body, you change your mind. Physically moving gets endorphins pumping and shakes up how we're feeling. Feeling down? Put on your fave tunes and shake your booty. Guaranteed to change how you're feeling. Try this quick beach workout.

6. Dress to feel awesome! Not feeling so amazing today? Put on your favorite sweater or that super sweet t-shirt that you love. How you adorn yourself matters. Your clothing makes a huge difference in how you feel and how you carry yourself! Dress for how you want to feel and you will start to feel stronger, more capable, more awesome.
